Pacific EV is founded The recent founding of Pacific Vehicle Conversions marks a decisive stride forward in people’s effort to give up our dependence on gasoline and to reduce air pollution. The Seattle-based company, which focuses on converting vehicles to run on electric power, is driven by a common desire to see electric cars become a reality on our roads. Pacific EV may be small in size at the moment, but it’s truly grand in its vision of overhauling the U.S. automobile fleet to run on electricity. Come see at the Green Festival We are currently building our first demo Electric Vehicle, which we will have on display at the Green Festival in Seattle on March 28 and 29. Our goal is to use this vehicle to demonstrate for the public the great benefits of owning an Electric Vehicle, and also the fun of driving one. Yes, the music from your car stereo is more audible because there's no engine noise. You are also not polluting the air when driving. Want to see a Seattle-based Electric Conversion Succeed?* If you want to see Pacific EV succeed, here are some ways to help:
EV trivia Did you know that about 75 percent of the energy contained in gasoline gets wasted by an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine). That means only about a quarter of the energy in gasoline gets transferred to the wheels of a car. EVs, on the other hand, are about 90 percent efficient because the technology is far superior. When a gasoline or diesel vehicle stops in traffic, the engine continues to idle and burn fuel, thus polluting the environment. When an EV stops in traffic, it is using no energy from the batteries. On an EV you only use energy when you drive it, and it wastes very little energy in comparison. | ||
